Cannes: Double Dutch International Hires Myriad’s Mark Padilla

In a pre-Cannes Film Festival move, Double Dutch International has hired Myriad Pictures executive Mark Padilla as senior VP of sales and acquisitions.
Padilla had been at Myriad since 2012 as VP of worldwide sales and distribution.
Padilla’s role will include overseeing and managing global sales for DDI’s slate. He will also be heavily involved in DDI’s acquisitions strategy and evaluating new projects for worldwide commercial appeal.
Prior to Myriad, Padilla was VP of sales and acquisitions with Essential Entertainment with a focus on international and domestic releases. He was the marketing manager at Arclight Films and prior to that assisted with product acquisition for several distribution companies at the S. Hirsch Company.
“As DDI continues down its exciting path we knew that it would take a bright, accomplished individual to head up our sales and acquisitions team,” said CEO Jason Moring. “Mark was the ideal candidate who shares in our vision. His experience in sales and acquisitions rivals anyone within the industry and we’re extremely thrilled to unleash Mark just in time for Cannes.”
Recent releases handled by DDI include “How to Plan an Orgy in a Small Town,” Cynthia Nixon’s Emily Dickinson biopic “A Quiet Passion” and the family comedy “A.R.C.H.I.E.” with Michael J. Fox voicing a robotic dog.
